Alabama native LeNard Brown is on 1010theKing.com during the Weekends! Brown is an internationally known producer, writer, arranger, and entrepreneur. He is one of the original members of the famous quartet called The Controllers. Also, he is the creator of “Inside the Juke Joint” which has found a new home with 1010theKing.com. The members were constantly taken out of school to sing. The Controllers became famous for their incredible stage performances. Their most popular song, “Somebody’s Got to Win, Somebody’s Got to Lose,” catapulted them into stardom. The group went on to create 16 hit records on the Billboard charts. Stevie Wonder made a guest appearance on harmonica for their first MCA single, “Crushed”. The men have traveled all over the world, appearing multiple times on Soul Train, MTV, BET, HBO, and at Carnegie Hall. They sold out Radio City Music all for two nights in a row and have performed in stadiums packed with more than 90,000 people. The Controllers have opened shows for James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, The Temptations - just about every major artist that you can possibly name. LeNard Brown and Reginald McArthur created the highly rated and very popular syndicated talk show, “Inside the Juke Joint.” Together the two have hosted more than 450 times.
